Instruction to authors

A manuscript should be submitted electronically, in MS Word, though the Journal Management System. In case of any problem with the submission, please contact the Editor-in-Chief at oscm.editor@gmail.com or the Associate Editors. Once received, it will be reviewed by the editor handling the submission for suitability. If further review is deemed appropriate, the manuscript will be sent to 2 or more reviewers, otherwise it may be rejected by the editor. When preparing your manuscript, please follow the guidelines below: We publish high quality papers that contribute significantly to theory and / or practice. Articles maybe of any type: literature review, research papers or short communications.

  2. The paper submitted for consideration for publication in the Operations and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal (OSCM Journal) is not copyrighted, accepted or under review in other journals.
  3. It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain appropriate permissions from copyright owners or authorities of any copyrighted materials from outside parties that are used in the paper.
  4. A paper submitted to the Journal must adhere to the publication ethics (the paper is free from plagiarism and in case of multiple authors, all authors are aware of the submission made by the corresponding author).
  5. Authors are encouraged but not required to provide a cover letter for their manuscript. In the cover letter, authors may include a statement that the paper is an original contribution and is not under consideration in other journal. Statement of funding may also be included.
  6. A separate page of the paper should include a title, the names, affiliations, addresses, and e-mails of the authors, an abstract summarizing the content of the paper of no more than 250 words, and 3 – 6 keywords. The body of the paper should be anonymous and provides no attributes of authors’ identity.
  7. The abstract of one paragraph length should not contain formulas and references. It should explain the background of the study, the research process / method, and the major findings.
  8. The Introduction should emphasize the research background and motivation, the research gap, and the objectives of the study. Author(s) should be able to positioning the current paper with the existing literature in the field. It is therefore, the introduction should be well connected to the existing literature.
  9. The literature review may or may not be put as a separate section, but it is important to link the paper to the existing literature.
  10. The discussion of results should focus on the interpretation rather than repeating information from the Results section. Here, authors are encouraged to again link to the discussion to the existing literature for making comparisons, if deemed appropriate.
  11. Equations should be numbered.
  12. Tables should present useful information and not merely duplicating what is in the text. Tables should be numbered. The caption should be clear enough to represent what is presented in the table. Please supply editable files (for example, tables should not be put in the form of a picture).
  13. All figures and tables should have clear captions and inserted directly in the body of the paper (NOT listed in the back of the paper).
  14. The manuscript should be typed in MS Word, using 12 point-Times New Roman-font. The paper should have 1.5 spacing throughout and written with a single column.
  15. The length of the manuscript should be less than 8000 words or 30 pages.
  16. Use last name(s) of the author(s) and year of publication in the text. Use et al after the last name of the first author for three authors or more. In the end of the article, list the references in the alphabetical order of the last name of the first authors.
    • For books: Last name, initials (year), title (italic), publisher, place of publication. For example: Chopra, S. and Meindl, P. (2001), Supply Chain Management: Strategy, Planning, and Operations, Prentice-Hall, New Jersey.
    • For journals: Last name, initials (year), article title. Journal Name (italic), volume, number, page numbers. For example: Wang, X., and Liu, L. (2007). Coordination in a retailer-led supply chain through option contract. International Journal of Production Economics 110 (1-2), pp. 115 – 127.
    • For Conference Proceedings: Last name, initials (year), article title. Conference Name (Italic), Conference Location, page numbers.
    • For sources from the Internet: Add the URL address and date of access after any possible information such as authors’ name, title of the article, etc.
  17. In the text, references should be cited by the author(s) surname(s) and the year of publication (e.g. White, 2018). References with two authors should be cited with both surnames (e.g. White and Lee, 2018). References with three or more authors should be cited with the first author followed by et al. (in italics; e.g. White et al.).
  18. The use of footnotes and end-notes should be avoided.
  19. Acknowledgement, if any, should be placed before the list of references. When the paper is written as part of a funded research, please acknowledge the source of funding.
  20. Submission of the revised manuscript should be accompanied by a few pages outlining how each comment from the reviewers have been addressed. The revised paper should show the modified or revised parts, by for example, marking these new or revised parts with a different font color.
